Book info: Containment in the Pharmaceutical Industry (Drugs and the Pharmaceutical Sciences) (Hardcover, 272 pages) – CRC Press, 2000. Language: English.

Delivering an encompassing overview of the factors, varieties, and applications determining product containment, this concise reference provides authoritative information on containment processes. It reviews the historical context, definition, evolution, and application of containment technology, analyzes a variety of containment techniques in new and retrofitted construction, and examines "people protection" vs. "product protection" and the role of source-contamination in each. It also suggests conceptualizing containment options from the inception of a project for economical, at-the-source containment, identifies containment requirements and monitoring methods, as well as the current state of emission controls, and discusses the "dustiness" of powders and how this research is being defined, quantified, and used in containment design. Editorial Reviews Review " a welcome addition to the literature .of interest to anyone in commutative ring theory, number theory, or semigroup theory." -- Mathematical Reviews

" can be regarded as a tool useful in the quest to better contain pharmaceutical operations." -- European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics

" present[s] not only up-to-date information, but also timeless approaches and advice .

" an excellent reference source of practical and up-to-date information. -- Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries

" the book finds a niche in taking a more holistic view of containment overall." -- European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics
