Dan earned a bachelor of science degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He is a certified network engineer with Novell Systems, Cisco systems and Linux, with over 15 years of experience in computer and network applications for hospital settings. As HIPAA officer and HIPAA security officer, Dan enabled Richland Memorial Hospital to move toward compliance. He worked closely with Illinois Hospital Association to build a statewide infrastructure that enables health care organizations to interconnect electronically. As that infrastructure has matured, it has changed the way health care information is exchanged. Working with his wife Carole, Dan authored two successful books about HIPAA before retiring to spend more time in his woodshop, among other places.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCarole H. Krager is an adjunct instructor in the Medical Office Careers Department at Olney Central College campus of Illinois Eastern Community College, teaching medical insurance and coding and advanced coding.
